This five-day, four night retreat invites participants into an experiential exploration of the many ways we think, feel, perceive, and create meaning. Inspired by the work of Jill Bolte Taylor and her book Whole Brain Living and enriched by the contemplative practices of SoulCollage® and the labyrinth, this retreat offers a compassionate framework for recognizing the many aspects of the self as valuable expressions of a larger wholeness.
Drawing on emerging understandings of the right and left hemispheres of the brain—as well as the intuitive, emotional, analytical, and imaginative dimensions of human awareness—we will explore how different inner voices shape our lives. Through the symbolic language of images, the meditative rhythm of walking the labyrinth, guided reflection, and creative practice, participants are invited to cultivate greater inner harmony, spaciousness, and self-understanding.
SoulCollage® becomes a way of giving visual form to these inner dimensions, while the labyrinth offers an embodied path for integration, insight, and transformation.
“You are the life-force power of the universe and your human brain is amazing far beyond your wildest imagination.”
Throughout our time together, we will explore questions such as:
How do logic and intuition work together in creative living?
What happens when imagination is given equal value alongside analysis?
How might we listen more deeply to the emotional and intuitive wisdom within us?
What does it mean to live from greater coherence between mind, body, heart, and soul?
This retreat weaves together neuroscience, creativity, contemplative practice, symbolism, and embodied ritual in a gentle and accessible way. No artistic experience is necessary—only a willingness to listen inwardly and engage the journey with curiosity and openness.
Together we will create a spacious environment for reflection, insight, creativity, and renewal—an opportunity to experience what it means to live with greater balance between structure and flow, reason and imagination, inner knowing and outward expression.
Participants can expect:
Daily labyrinth walks and reflective practices
Guided SoulCollage® card-making sessions
Explorations of left/right hemisphere awareness and Whole Brain Living
