Photography is the language of light and reflection. Seeing through a camera encourages us to slow down and become more mindful of the beauty around us.
In this retreat we will explore the connection between meditation and photography. You will learn techniques to bring mindfulness and awareness into your photography practice, as well as ways to more fully express yourself, your senses and your feelings in the images you make.
Reflective focus practices using your eye and your camera will build your image-making skills, while showing you the value of “seeing through quiet eyes”.
We will also explore how to add your unique creative spirit to your images by enhancing them on your iPhone, iPad or Android device with Photo Apps that are easy to use.
In addition, you will learn to create a simple, zen-like book as a container for the “Meditative Moments” you experience in your image-making.
Suitable for all levels and all cameras, including phone cameras.
The retreat begins on Sunday, August 18th, 2019 around 4pm when registration will be open and you can collect your key and settle into lodging. There will be a welcome dinner at Wild Rice Retreat that Sunday evening and we will gather after dinner for introductions and a discussion. The workshop component of the retreat will end after lunch on Thursday, August 22nd, wrapping up around 1pm.
